Adjunct Assistant Professor
Biography
Professor Jiao joined College of Computing at Georgia Tech in Fall 2005. From Fall 2001 and Spring 2005, he was a Research Scientist at the Center for Simulation of Advanced Rockets (CSAR) at UIUC, where he was the principle architect of the software integration framework of CSAR's simulation suite, and also led the efforts in developing numerical and geometric algorithms for interfacing diverse physics modules.
Dr. Jiao's research falls into the broad category of Computational Science and Engineering. The theme of his current research is on the development of high-performance algorithmic and software solutions in large-scale dynamic and heterogeneous physical systems. His current research activities include mesh adaptation, mesh correlation, dynamic interfaces, and load balancing. He enjoys interdisciplinary collaborations. His current collaborators span across disciplines in mechanical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, and, last but definitely not the least, computer science
