Srinivas Aluru and Kendra Lewis-Strickland, of the Institute for Data Engineering and Science (IDEaS), represented Georgia Tech and the South Big Data Hub at the 2018 Joint PI Meeting: NSF BIGDATA and Big Data Hubs & Spokes in Alexandria, VA from June 20-22.
Aluru is a co-executive director of the Institute for Data Engineering and Science, a co-PI of the South Big Data Hub, and a professor in the School of Computational Science and Engineering. Lewis-Strickland is the newest addition to IDEaS, serving as the South Hub’s program manager.
Both presented at the workshop, which brought together over 150 key stakeholders in the Big Data programs funded by the National Science Foundation. Principal investigators and selected representatives from government and industry convened to discuss current research, identify major challenges, and identify promising directions for future studies.
